Liverpool will be transformed into a sea of red over the bank holiday weekend as Liverpool Football Club celebrate their impressive Premier League campaign with fans. A Bank Holiday Monday parade was announced by City Council leader Liam Robinson last month.

The parade will take place the day after the final game of the 2024-25 season and will begin at 2.30pm. The 15km route will be the same as the 2019 and 2022 parades, where fans will line the streets and anticipate the arrival of the parade bus as the players show off the Premier League trophy.

Hundreds of thousands of fans are expected to be in Liverpool on May 26, ahead of the huge day Liverpool City Council has shared a key message to anybody attending the parade. They say: "And the key message? Plan, plan, plan to make sure your Bank Holiday Monday is exactly how you want it to be."

The victory parade route will start at Allerton Maze and will travel north bound on Queens Drive towards the Fiveways roundabout and Rocket flyover. From there it will journey along:

• Queens Drive

• Mill Bank

• West Derby Road

• Islington

• Leeds Street

• The Strand

• Route finishes at Blundell Street

It will be a chance for Liverpool supporters to finally celebrate a Premier League trophy win after the Covid-19 denied the fans and team celebrating in the 19/20 season.

The key thing is to plan your journey in advance. People are strongly advised to stay local if they can and walk or cycle if possible. If you are using public transport, please check the latest timetables and allow more time.

Liverpool City Council’s Culture Liverpool team has been liaising with businesses and residents on the route to make sure they are aware of the event and the impact it may have.

The Strand will be closed northbound from the Upper Parliament Street/Great George Street junction to Leeds Street/Great Howard Street junction from 4am to 10pm, or until it is safe to re-open.

The southbound lane will be closed from approximately 12pm to 8pm, again subject to crowd safety requirements.

Additionally, Leeds Street City bound will be closed from 12pm until approximately 8pm.

A council spokesperson said: "We are not able to provide specific accessible viewing areas, but have made it a long route to allow as many people as possible to watch it.

"We recommend those uncomfortable in large crowds choose a quieter location along the route which is away from major landmarks, or choose a wider street where there is more space to move around."
