Ryan Giggs argues Ruben Amorim’s‘special’Man Utd ace has‘strengths’that‘outweigh all his weaknesses,’he is‘brilliant’

Ryan Giggs has waxed lyrical about the one first-team Manchester United star under Ruben Amorim who “looks like a class above” the rest at Old Trafford.

Manchester United are now preparing for their return to Premier League action on Friday and the Red Devils will travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea.

The Red Devils have two Premier League matches and Manchester United’s 2025 Europa League final showdown with Tottenham remaining in their campaign.

United have significantly underperformed in their Premier League season and Ruben Amorim’s men languish in 16th place in the table in the 2024-25 campaign.

The Red Devils fell to their 17th Premier League defeat in their woeful campaign after West Ham secured a 2-0 win over United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

United have only managed 10 victories from their 36 Premier League fixtures so far and Amorim’s side are now winless in their last five league matches this season.

Amorim is now reliant on United’s Europa League campaign to secure the Red Devils’ route back to Europe for next season with a place in the Champions League.

Ryan Giggs sends a clear-cut message about Bruno Fernandes’ role at Old Trafford under Man Utd manager Ruben Amorim

Bruno Fernandes has continued to outshine his Manchester United teammates on the pitch and impressed for the Red Devils in their lacklustre 2024-25 campaign.

The 30-year-old United captain has scored 19 times and picked up 19 assists in 54 matches across all competitions for the Red Devils in the current season.

Bruno Fernandes inked a new contract with United last summer and the Red Devils skipper is now tied down to a deal at Old Trafford until 2027.

However, the Portugal and United midfielder’s future has been cast in doubt in recent weeks amid fierce transfer interest from Saudi Arabia in Fernandes.

Speaking on the Webby & O’Neill YouTube channel, Ryan Giggs dropped major praise on the role that Fernandes has continued to play for Ruben Amorim’s men.

“No player is ever bigger than the club, but right now, he is the special player, he is the captain,” he said.

“He is the one producing special moments in games and he looks like a class above at the moment.”

Ryan Giggs rules out his desire to see Man Utd sell Bruno Fernandes, despite transfer interest from Saudi Arabia

Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal has been linked with Bruno Fernandes and United manager Amorim has previously ruled out the idea of selling his key player.

Giggs admitted that it would be “unthinkable” for United to now lose Fernandes and highlighted that the Portugal star’s strengths “outweigh all his weaknesses.”

“It would be unthinkable at this moment to lose him because with him and the rest of the squad, it is night and day in terms of what he produces consistently since he has been at the club,” he continued.

“And he is always fit, always wants the ball, he has got weaknesses, but his strengths outweigh all his weaknesses and he is a brilliant player.”

United and Chelsea’s Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge is slated for an 8:15pm kick-off time in the UK on Friday evening.
