Wolves recently opened the voting for their Supporters’ Player of the Season award and this could genuinely be one of the closest races for years.
It has been an incredibly turbulent season at Molineux, but one that will end well with Wolves having easily secured their safety.
After an awful start by Gary O’Neil, Vitor Pereira came in in December and has done a brilliant job.
Granted, there was ultimately a very feeble challenge from Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town in the end.
But the way Wolves have surged clear of the relegation zone in recent months has still been impressive.
Matheus Cunha has been a regular headline-grabber at Molineux this season and undoubtedly, without him and his contributions, Wanderers may be in a world of trouble right now.
With 15 Premier League goals to his name and six assists, it has been an excellent season from the Brazilian.
But he has also been a controversial figure, serving two bans and angering fans on social media as speculation has swirled that he’ll be leaving the club.

Arguably, despite Cunha’s moments of brilliance, there is a more deserving player than him for Player of the Season.

It’s hard to see there being a runaway winner in the vote for Wolves’ Supporters Player of the Season this year.
Even though it’s been a rollercoaster campaign, there have still been some fantastic individual seasons.
Nelson Semedo has been fairly consistent once again, and actually done a very good job as captain after Mario Lemina left.
Matt Doherty deserves huge credit for the way he’s slotted in on the right of the back three.
Emmanuel Agbadou may have only signed in January, but he has been imperious at the back and totally transformed Wolves defensively. It’s not out of the question he could win.
Andre has been magnificent at times in midfield, especially under Pereira.
Jorgen Strand Larsen has also quietly had an excellent debut campaign in English football, and is easily the best number nine at Wolves since Raul Jimenez.
And of course, Cunha has been Cunha.
But arguably, Joao Gomes might be the most deserving winner.
The Brazilian, like most of his teammates, struggled in the first couple of months this season. But towards the end of O’Neil’s tenure, in those final games, he was the only player who didn’t look beleaguered.
He continued to run his socks off for Wolves, and you could see how important every single game was to him.
His infectious determination has likely been a big reason he has started all but two Premier League games this season. The two he missed were due to him being suspended.
And just lately, since Gomes signed his new contract at Wolves, the 24-year-old has really stepped his game up.
The other players have all had moments, but arguably, Gomes has been the most consistent, shining even during the dark times. And there is really something to be said for that, given how bad things actually were.

Wolves have a gem on their hands with Joao Gomes, and he’ll make the club millions
Wolves fans absolutely adore Gomes, because there appears to not be a hint of ego with him.
He is as humble as they come, and that also comes across in the way he plays the game.
Gomes loves to do the dirty work and will give absolutely everything for that badge, and arguably there is not a more determined player on the books at Molineux.
But Gomes has also recently really improved on the ball, which former Old Gold midfielder Dave Edwards has noticed. So he is developing very nicely indeed.
It’s little wonder he is so coveted by other clubs.
Thankfully, Gomes signing a new contract means it’s almost impossible he’ll leave this summer.
But Wolves fans know that time will come eventually, and it will be a truly sad day when it does.
At least there is a very high chance he’ll bank Wolves a huge profit – and possibly become a new club record sale – when the time does come.
