Dallas Mavericks center Daniel Gafford is likely to be traded if the two sides don't agree on a new deal, as he’s entering the final year of his contract.
The Dallas Mavericks are heading into a highly anticipated offseason. After winning the Draft Lottery on Monday night, they’re once again positioning themselves as a team poised to return to championship contention next season.

One of the key tasks for the Mavs this offseason will be keeping their core intact, as several players are either entering the final year of their contracts or set to hit free agency this summer.
One player to watch closely is center Daniel Gafford, who is reportedly aiming for a significant payday in free agency and is expected to pursue a highly valuable contract.
Gafford is entering the final year of his current deal, which is worth $14.39 million. However, according to NBA insider Mike Scotto, if an extension isn’t reached, a trade could be on the horizon.
"Gafford is a trade candidate to monitor should he not agree to an extension with Dallas," Scotto revealed.
"The 26-year-old center will want a pay raise, the Mavericks already have Davis on a max contract, and 21-year-old center Dereck Lively is a year away from being extension-eligible," he added.
Gafford averaged 12.1 points and 6.7 rebounds this season and has proven to be a valuable addition since being acquired by the Mavs last season, helping them reach the NBA Finals in 2024.
