Grizzlies Player Reacts to Giannis Antetokounmpo Trade Report

After suffering a first-round playoff elimination against the Indiana Pacers, the Milwaukee Bucks will have some decisions to make. This includes a potential trade involving two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Earlier this week, NBA insider Shams Charania reported that Antetokounmpo is open-minded to the possibility of moving on from Milwaukee this summer.

Antetokounmpo has spent his entire 12-year NBA career with the Bucks up to this point. However, the team has failed to make it back to the conference finals since winning it all in 2021. Furthermore, following Damian Lillard's Achilles tear in the playoffs, the Bucks' immediate outlook is uncertain.

Nothing is official, so Antetokounmpo and his status in Milwaukee will be worth following all offseason. As one of the top players in the NBA, there will be plenty of suitors for the Bucks star. This may include the Memphis Grizzlies, who could look to boost their roster after getting swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round.

Recently, a Grizzlies player reacted to the Antetokounmpo trade report and provided some insight on what he thinks the team should do.

In a recent appearance on FanDuel's Run It Back, Grizzlies big man GG Jackson spoke about the idea of the team acquiring Antetokounmpo.

"In practice, my side will be hurting a little bit more," Jackson said about the Grizzlies potentially trading for Antetokounmpo. "I'm not opposed to anything, mainly because that's above my pay grade, and he's a legendary player in the flesh, so whatever we can get to help us get over that hump, I feel like we should take it."

Despite having a top seed in the West for a good portion of the season, the Grizzlies struggled to end the year, going 12-16 since the All-Star break, according to StatMuse. They ultimately ended as a Play-In Team and secured the No. 8 seed before their first-round playoff elimination. While nothing is official, they are a team to keep an eye on in the trade market this summer.
