Ruben Amorim has sparked a heated disagreement with his latest move, ahead of the Europa League final against Tottenham.
Amorim is under pressure at Manchester United, with the Red Devils guaranteed their worst-ever Premier League finish this season.
United cannot climb higher than 13th in the table between now and the end of the campaign, and it will be the first time they have ended the season in a position lower than eighth since 1990.
The Manchester side are in woeful form domestically, failing to win each of their last seven league games, a run which stretches back to mid-March.
However, Man United have a Europa League final against Tottenham to come, with the winner clinching a place in the Champions League final for next season.

Amorim pays for staff out of own pocket
Ahead of their upcoming European final, news has broken that Amorim is personally funding ticket purchases for the family and friends of the backroom staff at Old Trafford.

As part of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s cost-cutting measures at Man United, the support staff were originally going to have to buy tickets themselves if they wanted to invite others, before the Portuguese manager stepped in.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (14 May), former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan was unimpressed with the gesture, saying: “Why do we know about this? Who’s told us this and what is the purpose of it being told?
“The only person who could’ve told everyone that he bought these tickets is Amorim, it’s like people who donate money to charity and make a foreright play out of doing it. He’s on five/six/seven million pounds a year and he’s spent £1500 on tickets, big deal!”
Host Jim White labelled it “small fry” and “tragic” that Amorim had to dip into his own pocket to pay for the tickets.
Jordan argued back that it was simply United’s policy, saying: “I find it a bit wearing that this is a story to keep bashing Manchester United with.”
White then brought up the fact that Tottenham are paying for the tickets of all of their staff’s families and friends, and questioned why United weren’t doing the same.
Jordan refused to back down, adding: “The fact that Tottenham are doing it, fair play, but there’s no particular discredit for Manchester United for doing what everyone else does.”
Amorim must win over his staff
Football Insider Verdict
Regardless of whether or not Man United should be paying for complimentary tickets, the fact that Amorim has dipped into his own pocket is admirable.
The 40-year-old has a huge task on his hand to turn things around at Old Trafford, but small gestures like these should help keep everybody onside.
Amorim is constantly fearing for his job at Man United, and rightly so after the terrible league form and position that the club finds itself in.

However, winning the Europa League final could prove to be the boost he needs to begin lifting the mood, and if they do succeed in Bilbao, he will surely buy himself more time.
Beating Tottenham would also give United a Champions League place for next season, which would be crucial in trying to attract star talent to the club over the summer.
