Everton will bid farewell to Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
After 133 years, Everton are leaving Goodison Park for the new stadium on Bramley-Moore Dock, which will house 52,000 supporters.
Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola are among many to open up about their love for Goodison ahead of Sunday’s game against Southampton.
There have been rumours that Everton players will wear a special edition kit to mark the historic occasion.
Leading up to the weekend, we’ve taken a trip down memory lane and ranked the five most memorable moments at Goodison Park.

The five most memorable Everton games at Goodison Park
5 – Everton vs Bournemouth (2023)
Cast your mind back to May 28 2023, when Everton played host to Bournemouth on the final day of the season.
Sean Dyche was in post and Everton needed to win to ensure they avoided relegation from the Premier League.
Rivals Leicester City were beating West Ham United, so when the Toffees headed out for the second half, they were in the relegation zone.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Abdoulaye Doucoure stepped up and thundered home a sensational goal on the hour mark, which turned out to be the winner.
It sent Goodison into complete raptures and sparked a pitch invasion at the full-time whistle.
4 – Everton vs Fiorentina (2008)
Everton welcomed Fiorentina to Goodison in the last 16 second leg of the UEFA Cup, already two goals down.
Andrew Johnson netted an early goal before Mikel Arteta’s sensational 67th-minute strike took the tie to extra time and penalties.
“Incredible. You’re talking about it and my skin goes like this (goosebumps),” Arteta reminisced on the game.
“I remember that night. Honestly, the atmosphere we created at Goodison on those nights… that stadium is so particular and is different, you know.”
The Toffees ultimately lost on penalties, but nonetheless, it created an atmosphere that’ll live long in the memories of supporters.
3 – Everton vs Liverpool (1994)
21st November 1994 was the day Duncan Ferguson announced himself to Everton fans, as he netted in his side’s 2-0 win against Merseyside rivals Liverpool.
Speaking to BBC Sport recently, Ferguson admitted that it’s his most memorable moment at Goodison Park.
“The first one sticks in mind because there is a story to it as well – it was my first goal, we beat Liverpool, they are top of the league and we are bottom of the league.
“I’ve just come in and it’s big Joe’s [Royle] first game and we have just beaten Liverpool 2-0 – you couldn’t have made it up really. It was a crazy 24 hours for me and I think that then gets the fans on board with you.”
2 – Everton vs Manchester United (2005)
Another Ferguson special, as the big Scotsman netted the winning goal against Manchester United to tighten Everton’s grip on the top four.
The Toffees hadn’t beaten Manchester United in the league for 10 years up to that point, so it was an incredible atmosphere when Ferguson headed home in the 54th minute.
David Moyes explained earlier this month that this game was one of his favourites at the Grand Old Lady.
1 – Everton vs Arsenal (2002)
And, last but not least, perhaps the most iconic and memorable moment at Goodison was Wayne Rooney’s extraordinary goal against Arsenal, when he was just 16-years-old.
The Gunners came to Goodison as the champions, but Moyes’ men took them to injury time with the score level before the boy wonder Rooney curled home a stoppage time winner.
Everton ended Arsenal’s 30-game unbeaten run, and Rooney kick-started his illustrious career, which would see him become one of the best players this country has ever produced.
