Manchester City are expecting a busy summer as they look to reclaim the Premier League title

Manchester City are out to end the season with some silverware and a place in next season’s Champions League as their campaign comes to a close.

City have had a disappointing campaign in the Premier League by their high standards and they will be out to reclaim the title which they have won six times in the last eight years under Guardiola.

Man City eyeing move for Newcastle United gem

One position that Man City will be out to strengthen in the summer is at right-back. Fabrizio Romano has reported that a four-man shortlist has been drawn up with Kyle Walker ‘100 per cent’ set for the exit door - even if loan club AC Milan opt against making his stay at the San Siro permanent.

One of the names on the list, according to Romano, is Newcastle gem Tino Livramento. The 22-year-old has been with Newcastle since 2023 after leaving Southampton. He joined the Magpies for £32m with a further £8m in add-ons. He played for Newcastle at left-back in the Carabao Cup final as they beat Liverpool to win the trophy back in March.

He has played left-back for Newcastle on several occasions but he is traditionally a right-back and is therefore viewed as possible long-term replacement for Walker. Speaking on the player’s positional switch, Newcastle boss Eddie Howe said in April: "Athletically, Tino's excellent and we know that and we've seen that since he's come to the football club, but to have that responsibility of playing left-back on the opposite side to his natural foot and play the way he has...I just see Tino improving and getting better all the time. We're delighted to have him."

Man City also looking at double La Liga raid

While City need to strengthen at right-back, they are also out to add players all over the pitch as they look to mount a stronger challenge next season. Reports in Spain from Fichajes claim the are eyeing two deals from La Liga worth a combined £151m.

They are looking at Real Madrid forward Rodrygo and Barcelona’s Dani Olmo, with both players said to have Guardiola’s approval. Rodrygo has been linked with an exit from Madrid as he did not feature for a single minute in El Clasico over the weekend and the arrival of Xabi Alonso as manager of Real only adds to the uncertainty. City are said to be willing to pay around £84m for Rodrygo.

Meanwhile, Olmo is reportedly seen as the ideal replacement for Kevin de Bruyne, who will leave City at the end of the season. The Etihad Stadium outfit are said to be willing to pay £67m for Olmo and hope that would be enough to convince Barca to part with one of their key stars.
