Gary Neville has launched a blistering attack on the state of Manchester United - and called on club bosses to have a mass clear-out this summer.

Neville believes the United squad needs a complete rebuild if the fallen giants are to become serial winners again. United legend Neville claims Old Trafford has become a 'graveyard' for those players who joined the club in the last decade.

And the defender turned pundit reckons the situation is so bad that co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe should bite the bullet and pay whatever it takes to get those Ruben Amorim flops out of the door.

Despite reaching the Europa League final, United are languishing in 16th place in the table having lost a staggering 17 league games this season. And Neville insists United need to sell between eight and 10 players if they want to make progress next season.

He reckons the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jaden Sancho, Casemiro and Antony will have to be axed.

Neville told the Sky Bet 'Overlap Fan Debate': "There's three or four players that will leave through being out of contract, and he (Ratcliffe) needs to get (another) five or six out.

"And they're going to have to pay to get them out. Rashford's wages now will be paid half by Manchester United. That's £180,000-a-week, £8million-a-year being paid by United.

"I genuinely believe it's (United) been a graveyard for every player that's joined that club in the last 10 years, apart from Bruno (Fernandes).

"There's not one player joined that club that's improved apart from Bruno Fernandes, and he's a stand out to be fair, he's amazing what he's doing. The rest of them, whether you go back to (Angel) Di Maria and (Bastian) Schweinsteiger, every player that's signed has gone backwards."
