Man United have made the winger a priority over Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who they had been linked to.

Ruben Amorim will be keen to bring in players who suit his 3-4-3 formation in the summer transfer window, something that the United boss hasn’t had this season since taking over from Erik Ten Hag.

However, Amorim also would like to sign a winger who can play in one of the number 10 roles behind the striker, and they are now in talks to add a player who could become one of Delap’s attacking partners should they sign the Ipswich man.

Man United in talks with Semenyo

Previous reports have indicated that the winger was a target for Man United, but in a recent development, TalkSPORT are now reporting that the Red Devils have held talks with Semenyo over a potential summer transfer.

The 25-year-old doesn’t have a release clause in his contract at Bournemouth, however, it is understood that he would cost around £40m. It would be up to the Cherries, considering they risk losing multiple players this summer. The likes of Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez and Illia Zabarnyi have all been linked with a move away.

Man United’s alternative winger targets

Semenyo isn’t the only wide player that the Red Devils have been linked to ahead of the summer transfer window, even though he is the front-runner amongst them as things stand.

Arsenal have also been linked to the attacker, who will enter the final year of his contract at Brentford, meaning that the Bees could cash in on him this summer to avoid the possibility of him leaving on a free transfer next summer. Mbeumo is expected to cost around £60m, and he does have a one-year option in his contract should the Bees decide to keep him.
