As a current future Blue Devil continues to show out at the 2025 NBA Draft Combine, it appears the Duke coaching staff has not only identified a need for a contingency plan...but have that plan primed to execute.
Cedric Coward has been one of the biggest risers at the combine, posting impressive measurables, interviewing well, and factoring in as one of the better outside shooters at the event. On Wednesday afternoon he spoke to the media about his improving chances to become a first round pick and what that would mean for his commitment to head coach Jon Scheyer and Duke for the upcoming season.
"I communicate with the staff as I gain information, and they are 100 percent with me and my focus on the draft because this is my dream," Coward said. "At the end of the day I don't know if there's something specific I need to hear, I just know it's a conversation with my agent that I'll need to have to make the best decision for me."
