It was a dream debut start at home for the young defender, who capped the night with his first-ever goal for the senior team.
Speaking to Real Madrid TV after the match, Ramón was visibly emotional as he tried to process the unforgettable moment.
_“It’s inexplicable. I’ve been dreaming about this all my life,”_ he said. _“With this shirt, you have to go all the way. There’s no better way to score my first goal than this.”_
The decisive goal came in the dying moments of the game, when a cross into the box was flicked on and found its way to Ramón.
_“I saw the cross, it was flicked on, I thought I’d get in there and I don’t know how, but I put it in,”_ he said, recalling the decisive touch that sent the Bernabéu into a frenzy.
Making his first start at the iconic stadium added to the significance of the night for the 20-year-old.
_“It’s amazing. I couldn’t have imagined it and even more so considering the time it happened,”_ Ramón said. _“It’s a great source of pride and I hope there are many more to come. At first I was a bit nervous, but as the minutes went by I felt better. The end is self-explanatory. I’m delighted.”_
Ramón also shared how meaningful it was to receive the congratulations of his teammates — many of whom are world-renowned stars.
_“They’re the best in the world and it’s an inexplicable feeling when they come to congratulate you.”_
Reflecting on the game itself, Ramón praised Mallorca for their performance and acknowledged the challenge they presented.
_“Mallorca are a good team. They scored the first goal and then sat back a bit, but we had a lot of chances. Their goalkeeper had a great game, but we managed to win at the end.”_
