The Boston Celtics have kept their Playoffs campaign alive with a 127-102 victory over the New York Knicks in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semi-finals series.

Needing to win three straight games against to qualify for the Eastern Conference finals, the reigning NBA champions jumped the first hurdle by sealing a 25-point triumph in Boston, with the Knicks now leading the seven-match series 3-2.

Scores were tied at half-time at TD Garden before the Celtics, who were without injured superstar Jayson Tatum, dominated the third quarter and raced towards a 23-point lead with 7:36 remaining.

Any chance of the Knicks pulling off another dramatic comeback disappeared when Jalen Brunson was fouled out early in the final quarter.

Jaylen Brown contributed 26 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds for the Celtics, while teammate Derrick White scored a game-high 34 points, but Luke Kornet also starred with seven blocks.

Earlier in the first quarter, New York’s Josh Hart, who scored a team-high 24 points, was left bloodied after copping an accidental elbow to the face from Luke Kornet as he attempted to block a shot.

The series victor will face the Indiana Pacers, who defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games this week, in the Eastern Conference finals.
