West Ham’s striker net extends to Lazio

[West Ham,](https://www.claretandhugh.info/west-ham-linked-emerson-upgrade-has-exploded-into-stardom/) it seems, will leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of another recruit to the front line this summer. From the reports published not would seem there is a frantic realisation at last that in precisely three games’ time, the club will be left with one 32 year old front man with a dodgy injury record as their only striker.

Amongst all of the links a new report yesterday surfaced suggesting Lazio striker Taty Castellanos was now under consideration by the Hammers. The could certainly do worse and are competing with Wolves and Nottingham Forest: Without being defeatist, who would choose 15th placed West Ham over Nottingham Forest and their European football potential for next season?

According to the [_laziali.com_](https://thelaziali.com/2025/05/14/west-ham-woves-forest-chasing-lazio-striker-taty-castellanos/), Castellanos “_has consolidated his status as a key player, with Marco Baroni’s side struggling for goals whenever he’s absent. He has thus far scored 14 strikes and produced eight assists in all competitions.”_

Another day, another striker story: My first impulse to to look at the price in question and if it’s more than £25  million discount the story:_“Lazio haven’t placed Castellanos on the market, but like any other player he’s not considered ‘unsellable’. Hence, the management would be willing to consider offers in the region of €30-35 million.”_

So that’d suggest there are other better options out there this summer: Jonathan Burkhardt with a €20 million (£17 million) release clause sticks out as one to be prioritised.
