Napoli and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has interacted with Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand overnight after winning the Turkish Cup.
Osimhen bagged a brace in the second half on Wednesday as the Istanbul club beat Trabzonspor 3-0 to lift the Turkish Cup for the 19th time in their history. Unsurprisingly the victory sparked celebrations for the Turkish team's supporters and even Ferdinand got in on the act.
While visiting a barber during the final, the match was being shown and when Osimhen was shown on screen, the camera panned round to Ferdinand in the chair chanting the Nigerian forward's name. Showing his appreciation, Osimhen shared the clip on his Instagram feed responding with two laughing emojis and the yellow and red hearts to symbolise Galatasaray.
MEN Sport understands that United are targeting Ipswich Town's Liam Delap to be their main striker next season but Ferdinand has always suggested that Osimhen would be a wiser purchase, despite costing at least double the Englishman's release clause. "Forget Delap’s ability, potential, whatever you want to say about him," Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel.
"His quality as a player, it’s not about that right now for Man United. I think they need experience in there.

"Someone who knows how to score and someone that these younger guys can learn off. Rasmus Hojlund needs help. He doesn’t need a competitor.
"You need someone who can come in who he can go: ‘Listen take the pressure off me. You’re going to be the main guy.
"'I’m going to learn a little bit in the background and take my chances when they come.'" Ferdinand's hopes of seeing Osimhen at United next season will have taken a hit this week when it was claimed by Football Transfers that Chelsea were scheduling crunch talks with the forward over a move this summer.
It is claimed that the only sticking point for Chelsea is Osimhen's wage demands. The Nigerian is thought to be wanting approximately £10m per year in wages which is unattainable for the Blues.
However, if he was willing to negotiate down from that position, it is believed that Chelsea would be able to get a deal done.
