‘I do think’: Gary Neville reckons he already knows where Trent Alexander-Arnold will go next after Real Madrid

Liverpool are about to close a very important chapter in their history as Trent Alexander-Arnold gears up to leave Anfield.

Alexander-Arnold is set to join Real Madrid, this summer, and before he’s even gone to the Bernabeu, some are discussing his next move.

Ian Rush has discussed the idea of Alexander-Arnold returning to Liverpool one day, while, speaking on It’s Called Soccer, Gary Neville has made an interesting prediction about the right-back.

Indeed, Neville has already predicted Alexander-Arnold’s next move after Real Madrid, predicting that the full-back could end up playing in MLS to make himself a household name over in America.

Gary Neville makes Trent Alexander-Arnold prediction

Neville shared what he thinks will happen with Alexander-Arnold in the coming years.

The pundit says the defender will end up playing in America after a stint in Madrid, similarly to how David Beckham went to LA Galaxy from Madrid.

Interestingly, Alexander-Arnold was in Los Angeles over the summer with Jude Bellingham.

“I do think he will end up in America. I think he’ll do three, four or five years at Real Madrid, hopefully he’ll do well and I think he’ll go to America. I think that’s where he sees his life and his career. He doesn’t just see himself staying in Liverpool. I think he’s looked at Jude Bellingham and David Beckham, I think he’ll live in America and do different things.”

England stars who went to America

Neville reckons Alexander-Arnold will end up in MLS, and this is a well-trodden path by English stars over the years.

Indeed, a number of massive names have been over to play in America as they attempt to grow the profile of MLS and build their own personal brands.

England stars in MLS Club played for

David Beckham LA Galaxy

Steven Gerrard LA Galaxy

Frank Lampard NYCFC

Wayne Rooney DC United

Ashley Cole LA Galaxy

David Beckham, of course, is the most successful of these players, he won numerous trophies with LA Galaxy, while he’s now the owner of Inter Miami over in America.

Wayne Rooney would become the manager of DC United after his playing days, while Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard didn’t leave a huge lasting impact in America.

It will be interesting to see if Alexander-Arnold decides to follow this path, especially as he’s always maintained he wants to win trophies at the highest level and even win the Ballon d’Or.
