The Europa League final is around the corner and resale websites are listing match tickets for extortionate prices.
Desperate Manchester United fans are being ripped off for Europa League final tickets by resale websites.
United will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final on Wednesday night, and there has been a scramble for tickets, flights and accommodation for the game in Bilbao.
Although the Estadio de San Mames has a capacity of just over 53,000 fans, just 29,000 tickets will go to supporters of United and Tottenham and the remaining tickets will be allocated elsewhere by UEFA.
Some tickets have already appeared on resale ticketing websites, with eye-watering prices being charged for a seat to watch the Europa League final.
The cheapest ticket available on one touting website was £744, and the most expensive was £25,000.
There are hundreds of tickets listed on touting websites around the £1,000 mark, which has angered supporters who have missed out on a match ticket.
Football tickets being touted on resale websites in vast numbers has become a problem in recent years. The websites listing the Europa League final tickets at inflated prices are based overseas.
Under the UK Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994, it is an offence for a person without authorisation from a football club to sell a ticket or otherwise dispose of it to a third party.
A spokesperson from United said: "We would always urge fans only to buy from official sellers and avoid third party sites who often list tickets at inflated prices."
The UEFA app allows for free transfer of tickets, meaning there is less control over where tickets end up, and they have failed to address concerns from supporters over the years.
United and Tottenham have been allocated just 14,770 tickets each for the final.
