‘100 per cent’ - Fabrizio Romano gives worrying Newcastle United transfer update

Newcastle United could face interest from Manchester City in Tino Livramento this summer.

Manchester City are reportedly readying an offer for Newcastle United ace Tino Livramento.

Signed in 2023 for £35million, the Magpies took a risk on the former Southampton star. Livramento played just two games after recovering from an ACL injury before Newcastle swooped to sign the young full-back.

Eased into the team last season, the 22-year-old has come of age in 2024-25. He started the season at right-back but has particularly impressed since Lewis Hall’s injury opened a slot on the opposite flank.

Winning the Carabao Cup and playing a key role towards Champions League qualification has rubberstamped why Livramento is viewed as the long-term option at St James’ Park. A maiden England call-up also reinforces Newcastle’s decision to splash big money on the Chelsea academy graduate.

Fabrizio Romano reveals Man City interest

Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano is reporting Livramento as one of four potential targets to replace Kyle Walker, currently on loan at AC Milan. He wrote on social media: “Tino Livramento, among options under consideration at Manchester City for the right-back position.

“There’s a four-man shortlist for that position with City set to decide ahead of Club World Cup. Kyle Walker will 100 per cent leave the club, even if AC Milan won’t buy him.”

Eddie Howe impressed by Tino Livramento’s recent form

“Tino has done really well. It was another big game for him against Brentford because he was playing against arguably their most dangerous player. I thought he defended very well.

"Athletically, Tino's excellent and we know that and we've seen that since he's come to the football club, but to have that responsibility of playing left-back on the opposite side to his natural foot and play the way he has – and also build the relationship with Harvey that he has done.

"I think they've played very well together, I thought Harvey was very good again today. I just see Tino improving and getting better all the time. We're delighted to have him."

Tino Livramento loved Newcastle United cup celebrations

Livramento starred at left-back and kept Mohamed Salah quiet during the Carabao Cup final. Speaking at the bus parade, the defender called St James’ Park an “amazing” place to play football.

"I didn't know what to expect as it is my first trophy,” Livramento said. “The amount of people of all ages was really special.

“As soon as the celebrations calmed down at Wembley, I wanted to get back to Newcastle to see the love we got. I really feel like I am part of this team and this city. It is an amazing place.”
