Everton are now able to put plans in place for the summer with Angus Kinnear now in position.
It has been known for a while now that Kinnear would make the leap from Leeds United to Everton before the summer.
Following Leeds’ promotion back to the Premier League, the new Everton CEO quickly got to action at Finch Farm.
Kinnear says Everton have a lot to do this summer with players set to depart at the end of their current contracts.
However, it promises to be a fresh start for David Moyes and the club as he will finally be able to put his stamp on the squad.
Considerable additions are going to be needed with Everton looking to transform their squad.
And there is one midfielder who they are showing a strong interest in ahead of the window opening next month.

Everton showing strong interest in Habib Diarra
Moyes is keen to add a new midfielder this summer and he has felt this way since the moment he returned to Merseyside in January.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
The jury remains out when it comes to the future of Idrissa Gana Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure on Merseyside.
But, according to journalist Mohamed Toubache, Everton are really interested in potentially signing Habib Diarra from Strasbourg.
It is believed Strasbourg won’t stand in Diarra’s way this summer as interest grows in his signature.
There are other clubs who are keen on Diarra, but the journalist believes it is the Toffees who are showing strong interest.
Everton have been interested in the £16m-rated Diarra since January but the Blues were unable to pull off any permanent deals then.
Whether Diarra is willing to make the move to the Premier League remains to be seen.
Everton have big midfield decisions to make
Doucoure remains keen to sign a new Everton contract and the Mali midfielder is certainly doing all he can to secure that contract.
The 32-year-old has been featuring on numerous media outlets over the last couple of weeks to discuss his situation as he asks to remain on Merseyside.
Gueye finds himself in a similar position, but he is not speaking publicly about his situation.
Moyes is keen to keep Gueye on a new deal, but nothing has been announced just yet.
Regardless, Everton will be keen to make some additions over the coming months to their midfield to add some further quality ahead of the stadium move.
