Manchester United are set to end the season how they started it, with a spate of injuries keeping star players in the treatment room.
Coming into this year’s Premier League campaign, United were set back from the off, with Rasmus Hojlund, Leny Yoro, Mason Mount and Luke Shaw all ruled out through injury.
Unfortunately for Ruben Amorim, the revolving door of the Carrington medical bay has seen players return to the pitch, only to be replaced by other injuries.
Now, coming into the final three games of the season, Amorim’s side is once more plagued with injuries, with five key defenders unlikely to make the trip to Stamford Bridge.

Heading into their penultimate game in the Premier League, United are facing a defensive crisis from an injury front.
For a long-time it’s been known that Lisandro Martinez’s season was over after tearing his ACL at the start of the year, however Diogo Dalot and Ayden Heaven also joined the star in the treatment room.
More recently Matthijs de Ligt has also been ruled out with Leny Yoro now joining him for yet another stint on the side-lines.
Ruben Amorim discussed his defensive issues in the pre-match conference as reported by FourFourTwo, confirming the key absences.
Speaking about the pair of centre-backs joining the side for their Europa League final clash next week, Amorim commented: “I don’t know if they’re going to be available, we’ll try to push, it’s a final, all the players want to play really bad.”
He continued: “I don’t think they will go to Chelsea but we’ll have some of them for the final.”
The Portuguese manager also commented on Dalot’s recovery, saying: “Dalot is trying really bad. I don’t want to risk Dalot because when you start getting one injury, a second injury, it is a big thing>”
He continued: “We cannot have these kinds of problems in our squad. We will see. He is working really hard to get in the final.”
