Transfer fee named for Leeds United target but Everton boss could yet spoil things

In an advantageous position that they have no games to play and can focus on little else but preparing for the Premier League, Leeds United are hard at work on their summer recruitment plans as options are drawn up and contingencies put in place for all eventualities.

Signing a host of players to bolster what is in effect largely a Championship squad, there is a great deal of work to be done in the next few months to ensure Daniel Farke has the necessary tools to do the job in the top flight.

It means a large number of players already have been linked, with many more no doubt to follow as we get into the summer and the transfer window opens. Among those previously linked is West Ham United striker Tomas Soucek, with an update on his future catching the eye.

The Czech Republic international has been a hit at the Hammers since arriving five years ago, with 243 appearances for the club. Even among the club's struggles this season he has a return of nine goals. It's that type of form that has him, just like Jamie Vardy, linked with a potential swap to Leeds this summer.

It is now being confirmed by TBR Football that Soucek will definitely leave West Ham with the club looking to raise funds for a rebuild, which opens the door to Leeds and a Premier League rival in Everton, with Toffees manager David Moyes also said to be keen on a reunion with his former player.

It's understood a price of around £20m will be needed to take the player out of West Ham, with two years still to run on his contract. However, given the Hammers are the ones pushing for a deal, that figure could come down as they seek to get funds into the club.
