It’s still too early to make assumptions about most recruits, especially in 2026 and beyond, particularly in the Age of NIL. Take Italian star Dame Sarr, for instance: he seemed destined to sign with Kansas, but with uncertainty about Cedric Coward and the NBA Draft, Duke has made a move and may suddenly be the favorite to sign Sarr.
Athlon Sports has a bold take about another promising guard, saying this:
“Brandon McCoy, a 6-foot-5 combo guard from Bellflower, California, has been a top target for the Blue Devils. As of right now, things are looking very good for Duke.”
McCoy has long been seen as a 5-star talent and perhaps the best point guard in his class. He’s good friends with Paul VI’s George Smith and the two have talked about playing together in college.
Will it be Duke?
Well as we say, in the age of NIL, you can never be 100 percent certain, but as of this moment, things are looking up for all three recruits.
