Wolves forward Matheus Cunha has enjoyed an outstanding campaign in the Premier League, becoming one of the division’s leading lights.
Cunha has plundered 17 goals in all competitions, including 15 in the Premier League, which have helped pull Wolves away from the threat of relegation.
It’s scary to think where the Old Gold would be without his contributions, particularly earlier on in the season, as the Brazilian carried the weight of expectation on his shoulders.
Wolves have accepted that their star forward will leave Molineux this summer, with Manchester United leading the race to sign Cunha.
Interested clubs have recognised his wonderful season in front of goal, yet Vitor Pereira’s star man has been snubbed for a prestigious award.

Salah is nailed on to win the award, having plundered an eye-watering 28 goals and 18 assists to deliver Liverpool the league title.
Cunha may have felt he deserved a nomination for the accolade, as he’s enjoyed a career-best campaign to date and often been Wolves’ saving grace.

Former Wolves ace Gibbs-White did receive recognition, though, for helping Nottingham Forest qualify for Europe next season with an outside chance of finishing in the Champions League places.
Gibbs-White scored against Leicester City on Sunday, in a fixture that resulted in ‘scandalous’ scenes at the end, with owner Evangelos Marinakis marching onto the pitch to confront boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
Manchester City-linked Gibbs-White also has six goals and 10 assists in 32 league appearances this term, which perhaps explains why he’s been shortlisted.
When is Cunha’s final game for Wolves?
Cunha said he wants to leave Wolves before the end of the campaign as he aims to wrap up his move to Man United before pre-season begins.
After two-and-a-half years of service to the club, the 25-year-old is entering his final two matches, including a trip to Crystal Palace and a home clash against Brentford.
That is their final home game of the campaign on May 25, where Cunha will say his goodbyes to his teammates, staff and fans.
It will be an emotional day for some, who have enjoyed watching his incredible talent over the years, but for many, they’re excited to see him exit.
Cunha has wanted to depart the club for a while, and instead of waiting for the season to finish, he’s pushed for a move and his constant teasing on social media has tarnished his reputation.
