Real Madrid have booked a medical within the next 24 hours for Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen, GIVEMESPORT sources understand.
The Cherries defender has been one of the most sought-after players on the market despite the season not being over, with his fine performances over this season meaning that his £50m release clause that becomes active this summer looked like terrific value.
Some of Europe's top clubs have shown a big interest in the Dutch-born Spain defender, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool, but it's Real Madrid who have taken the lead in the race for his signature and a deal is now closing in on completion.

Dean Huijsen in action for Spain
GIVEMESPORT sources exclusively revealed on Wednesday night that Real Madrid had agreed a £50m deal for Huijsen with Bournemouth.
Described as a 'generational talent', Madrid see the Spain international as a long-term option in the centre of their defence and the fact they can pay the release clause in three installments meant they saw the terms as favorable to them.
GMS sources now understand that a deal is advancing quickly and a medical has been scheduled for the next 24 hours.
Huijsen had interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in the Premier League, as well as Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, but his preference was always a move to the 15-time Champions League winners.

A deal to Madrid only exploded into life this week after it was confirmed that Carlo Ancelotti would be leaving his role as manager at the Bernabeu this summer, with ex-Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso set to take over as manager. The Leverkusen boss will join Real in time for the Club World Cup and has already stressed the need for defensive reinforcements. The idea is for Huijsen to arrive in time for the Club World Cup in America this summer.
Real Madrid also have an interest in Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate and Arsenal star William Saliba as they look to rebuild their squad following a disappointing campaign, but the big fees likely to be required to sign either mean no approaches have been made.
