It’s the penultimate Gameweek of the 2024-25 FPL season.

Even if you’re not planning on making too many changes ahead of this weekend, it may be worth looking at Everton assets.

The Toffees host relegated Southampton in their final game at Goodison Park, and David Moyes’ side have a few players in good form.

Squawka have taken a look at the five Everton players in the best FPL form to see whether they’re worth a transfer.

Beto

Price: £4.8m

Form: 4.2

Beto has found form once again. After a run of eight games without a goal, Beto has two in two.

He has netted against both Ipswich Town and Fulham, gathering 14 points across his past two matches. The underlying numbers look decent too.

Across those two matches, Beto has averaged 4.34 shots per 90 minutes, with 2.17 on target – the most of any Everton player.

Beto also leads Everton for non-penalty Expected Goals (0.7) and non-penalty post-shot xG (1.33) per 90.

You’ll notice the positive difference between his xG and post-shot xG. Beto has been improving his chances of scoring based on where he’s placing his shots.

Throw in the fact that Southampton have faced more shots on target than any other team in the Premier League this season, and you have a recipe for success.

Beto’s stats

Dwight McNeil

Price: £5.1m

Form: 4.0

Dwight McNeil could be the one supplying the chances for Beto. The Englishman has been getting more minutes lately after his return from injury, and could start at Goodison Park.

He’s also picked up 14 FPL points in his past two games, but they’ve come in 106 minutes.

McNeil scored in his start against Ipswich, before coming off the bench to assist against Fulham. McNeil has been pretty efficient with his actions during those two matches.

He’s taken one shot and created one chance, which was a big chance.

He’s a decent option, but his goal threat could be better.

Dwight McNeil’s stats

Vitalii Mykolenko

Price: £5.4m

Form: 2.8

Vitalii Mykolenko’s form is up as he scored in the 3-1 win over Fulham last weekend, bringing in eight points.

The Toffees are actually now five without a clean sheet however, since a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest. They are averaging 1.2 xG and 1.76 post-shot xG conceded per game in their past five matches.

Mykolenko himself doesn’t really get involved in the attack, creating 0.4 chances per 90 across the past five games – with 0.2 of those being big chances.

He’s also posted 0.03 xA per 90 across those five matches, with 0.4 successful passes into the penalty area, so the numbers aren’t anything to shout about.

Vitalii Mykolenko’s stats

Carlos Alcaraz

Price: £4.7m

Form: 2.8

Carlos Alcaraz has assists in his past two Premier League games, accumulating nine points in total.

That’s worked out to 1.04 assists per 90, from 1.56 chances created – both the third-most among Everton players across their past two matches.

Alcaraz also ranks third among Everton players over their past two matches for big chances created at 0.52. He’s posted 0.22 xA per 90, had 1.56 touches in the opposition box and completed 0.52 crosses.

There doesn’t really seem to be a downside for Alcaraz at his price, especially against a leaky Southampton defence.

Carlos Alcaraz’ stats

Jordan Pickford

Price: £5.1m

Form: 2.5

Jordan Pickford is an interesting dilemma.

The Englishman has kept 10 clean sheets this season, but none in his past five.

As an attack, Southampton have averaged 9.19 shots per game in the league this season. Only Leicester (8.97) have averaged fewer.

It’s a similar story for xG, with only Leicester (0.96) averaging less than Southampton’s 0.97 per game this season.

Southampton also have the worst record for shots on target (2.97) and post-shot xG (0.83) per game in the league, so it looks like there’s a good chance for Pickford to add to his 10 clean sheets in this one.

Even he doesn’t, he still averages 3.17 saves per 90 in the league this season, with 2.06 coming from shots inside the box.
