Leicester City have confirmed that Jamie Vardy's final game for the club will be against Ipswich Town on Sunday afternoon.
The legendary striker announced that he would leave the Foxes at the end of the season, with his final match at the King Power Stadium coming against the Blues before facing Bournemouth away from home on the final day of the season.
However, with the 38-year-old on 499 appearances and 199 goals for Leicester, the club have now revealed that he will play no part for the Cherries. As a result, he will play his final game for Leicester against Ipswich this weekend.
In a statement, they explained: "Jamie, who will make his 500th and final appearance in Leicester City colours, will be celebrated throughout the matchday.
"There will also be special souvenir flags in supporter seats as part of a pre-game display, so make sure you’re inside the stadium in plenty of time, all the way through to post-match, where we’re asking everyone to remain in their seats help us honour our No.9.
"Following the full-time whistle, a series of activity is planned to honour Jamie’s 13 years as a Fox, and for Jamie to lead the team, as well as a host of former team-mates, in thanking everyone in attendance for their support during that unforgettable period."
There were fears that Vardy could be an injury doubt against Ipswich, but manager Ruud van Nistelrooy has confirmed that he is fit and available.
