“Giannis To The Spurs”: NBA Insider Creates Blockbuster Three-Team Mock Trade Involving…

The Milwaukee Bucks may have to face the reality of trading away Giannis Antetokounmpo in the offseason. Despite having a few years remaining on his contract, it maybe the best interest for both parties to move on from each other.

Antetokounmpo is going to draw suitors from different NBA teams. It would make sense for the Bucks to trade him to a Western Conference team, but it is possible that Giannis may want to stay in the Eastern Conference. NBA analysts have been creating different mock trades for the Bucks superstar player. One analyst created another crazy blockbuster trade.

CBS Sports Sam Quinn Creates Three-Team Mock Trade Involving Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo

CBS Sports writer Sam Quinn created different mock trades. One of the trades he created was a three-team mock trade between the Bucks, the San Antonio Spurs, and the New Orleans Pelicans. Quinn has the Spurs getting Antetokounmpo. He has the Pelicans getting the no.14 pick from San Antonio and Atlanta’s unprotected 2027 first-round draft pick.

As for Milwaukee, they would get the biggest haul in this trade. They would get Stephon Castle, Harrison Barnes, 2025 number two overall pick, most favorable of Milwaukee and New Orleans’ first-round pick in 2026. Quinn said,

“Giannis to the Spurs.

One of the biggest questions of the offseason was whether it was wise for San Antonio to go all-in on a 30-year-old Antetokounmpo when Victor Wembanyama is a decade younger. Jumping up to No. 2 in the Draft Lottery means they won’t have to. They’ll still have to pay a bundle to get the two-time MVP, of course, but that pick is so valuable on its own that San Antonio could preserve the bulk of its remaining future draft capital while still making Milwaukee the best offer in the field. That’s going to matter in four or five years when Antetokounmpo has aged out of stardom and De’Aaron Fox is in the back part of his prime. It preserves enough ammunition for the Spurs to go make another star trade down the line, when Wembanyama is in his prime.

This deal costs them their Rookie of the Year and this year’s second pick (likely Rutgers guard Dylan Harper), but keeps scoring forward Devin Vassell and defensive ace Jeremy Sochan in place. Not a bad starting point to support their new three-headed monster. They’d have to go get more shooting, of course, but they’re still more than financially flexible enough to do it. Sam Merrill on a mid-level contract in free agency would become an obvious target.

For the Bucks, this would be a monster package. Harper has a chance to be a star.”

That may not be a big enough haul for the Bucks to get back for Antetokounmpo. It would be a surprise if the Spurs traded away both draft picks in 2025. San Antonio maybe leaning to keeping the pick after all. They are leaning toward keeping the second pick and drafting Harper in the 2025 NBA Draft.

If the Spurs were to keep the pick, then the Bucks may look elsewhere to make a trade. The Houston Rockets, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Brooklyn Nets could be three other teams to potentially watch for. The Rockets could part with its first-round pick this year in the trade and Brooklyn has four picks in the 2025 NBA Draft in the first round.

There will be a lot of teams trying to make offers for Antetokounmpo. If the Spurs, Bucks, and Pelicans pulled off this deal, it would change the landscape of the NBA.
