On a night that had no shortage of drama, Ethan Galbraith emerged as a pivotal figure as Leyton Orient beat Stockport County to secure a place in the League One play-off final.
The play-offs have grabbed the attention of many at Manchester United in recent days.
Harry Maguire was seen supporting Sheffield United’s attempts at promotion, like Amad Diallo did for Sunderland, but some former United players are involved.
United fans will wish them all the best of luck because it’s always good to see academy players develop their careers elsewhere.
That was the case again on Wednesday night in the League Two semi-final play-offs.
The showdown at Brisbane Road started with a 2-2 draw, setting up a tantalising second leg at Edgeley Park. Leyton Orient made an early statement when Ollie O’Neill pounced on Ethan Galbraith’s free-kick.
Stockport County didn’t give up as they clawed their way back into the game in the 74th minute, but penalties were required to decide the tie.
