DEAN Huijsen is set for a medical ahead of a transfer to Real Madrid, the Daily Echo understands.
As reported, the Spanish giants made contact with AFC Bournemouth and agreed a deal in principle to trigger the young centre back’s release clause.
And now, the 20-year-old will undergo a medical in the next 24 hours ahead of a move to La Liga.
The Spanish international will complete the season with the Cherries, with two games left to play against Manchester City and Leicester City.
Huijsen has excelled for Andoni Iraola’s side, playing every minute for the club in the Premier League since coming into the side vs Tottenham Hotspur in December.
He scored the winning goal in that game and has since scored twice, at Old Trafford and the Emirates in 3-0 and 2-1 wins for Bournemouth.
There were a number of teams interested in bringing Huijsen in this summer with a reported £50million release clause, including a host of Premier League teams, after he joined the Cherries last summer for a fee of £12.4m.
But the Spaniard has opted to move to Madrid, the club hoping to complete the deal so he can play in the upcoming Club World Cup this summer.
