Carlo Ancelotti is set to be reunited with Paul Clement after taking the Brazil job
Former Derby County boss Paul Clement is set to join Carlo Ancelotti's staff after the Italian was appointed Brazil manager.
According to ESPN, Clement is set to be reunited with the former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager after being his number two at both clubs.
Clement has been out of work since leaving Everton in 2023 when he was assistant to ex-Rams boss Frank Lampard at Goodison Park.
But he is now set for a South American adventure after Ancelotti left Madrid to take on one of the most lucrative jobs in world football.
Ancelotti starts as Brazil boss on May 26 and is the first non-Brazilian to take charge of the national side. It is claimed that Ancelotti will look to add Brazilians to his backroom staff as he prepares to get his reign under way.
Clement joined Derby in 2015 and his appointment was regarded as a coup. He enjoyed a run of losing just one game out of 19 from September to December.
It was hoped that he would go onto challenge for promotion, but with the Rams fifth in the division, and being just five points behind leaders Hull City, he was sacked with the style of football deemed as one of the reasons for his exit.
Clement went on to work alongside Gareth Southgate for England under-21s and was also head coach of Swansea in the Premier League.
