Top West Ham Insider Rubbishes Ridiculous Soucek Claims

West Ham United have responded to rumours that Tomas Soucek has been told to leave the London Stadium and find himself a new club.

Earlier today, reports began to circulate that the Czech midfielder had been informed by Hammers bosses that he was surplus to requirements.

This claim was quickly rubbished when a source very close to Soucek spoke directly to Claret & Hugh and informed us that no such conversation had taken place.

Since then, we have also been in touch with our senior West Ham contact, who has likewise dismissed the claims.

C&H asked our top source if there was any truth to the story that Soucek had been told to pack his bags, and the response was precisely the same as from the player’s camp: “Not true.”

Our insider continued: “It’s just not true. We have to sell a few players to start trading, BUT Soucek would be well down the list as he scores 5 to 10 goals every season.”

That pretty much stops the story in its tracks, considering we’ve had it confirmed by both club and player.

It is also worth pointing out that 30-year-old Soucek and his team have never once suggested to C&H that the player was anything other than very happy at the club. With nine goals to his name this season, he remains a transfer target for Leeds United and Everton, but his aim is to extend the two years remaining on his contract and, one day, captain West Ham United.
