Graham Potter could hand Lukasz Fabianski a rare start when West Ham United face Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

West Ham are plotting a strong end to the season after earning a 2-0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford last Sunday (12 May).

The Irons could therefore put a dent in Nottingham Forest’s hopes of clawing their way back into a Champions League qualification spot when they visit the London Stadium on 18 May.

However, with this being West Ham’s last home game of the season, Potter could give some of his players, including Fabianski, the opportunity to bid adieu to the fans.

West Ham have already confirmed that Fabianski, Aaron Cresswell, Vladimir Coufal and Danny Ings will leave the club when their contracts expire at the end of the season.

That means Sunday’s game against Forest will be the last time those four players could wear the claret and sky blue colours at the London Stadium.

Therefore, Fabianski could be in line for his first start for the East London outfit since Potter replaced Julen Lopetegui in January.

Meanwhile, Niclas Fullkrug could also return to the starting line-up after dropping to the bench against Manchester United.

Potter is also poised to put Edson Alvarez back in the starting line-up.

This means Alphonse Areola, James Ward-Prowse and Guido Rodriguez could drop to the bench on Sunday.

Potter could name an unchanged backline of Cresswell, Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo ahead of Fabianski, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Coufal lining up as wing-backs.

Alvarez may then join Tomas Soucek in a double pivot, while Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen provide width in attack.

Finally, Fullkrug could lead the line for West Ham, although Ings could make an appearance off the bench to wrap up his two-and-a-half-year spell at the London Stadium.
