Centre-back Ayden Heaven has been included in Manchester United's travelling squad for their Premier League clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Friday night.

United's players arrived at Stockport station on Thursday afternoon ahead of travelling south by rail and Heaven was among the group of players pictured disembarking the team coach.

The youngster, who joined United from Arsenal at the beginning of February, has been absent from the last seven matchday squads after suffering a setback in his recovery from a previous injury he sustained against Leicester City prior to the March international break.

The 18-year-old, who has made four appearances for United since his mid-season arrival, was last included in the matchday squad when he was named on the bench for the Reds' 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United at St James' Park on April 13.

Heaven was absent from the open training session United hosted at Carrington on Wednesday as part of the media obligation ahead of next week's Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao, meaning the prospect of him being included in the squad at Stamford Bridge is an unexpected boost.

The defender was spotted conducting some individual work at Carrington prior to United's Europa League semi-final second leg victory over Athletic Bilbao at Old Trafford last week.

United are experiencing something of an injury crisis at centre-back ahead of the clash with Spurs next week, with both Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro in a race against time to be fit for the showpiece. Head coach Ruben Amorim confirmed on Wednesday that neither of them will be involved against Chelsea and they were not spotted among the arrivals at Stockport station.

However, Toby Collyer was spotted among the group, meaning he looks set to be included in Amorim's plans against the Londoners. He has been sidelined for six weeks with a leg injury, last being included in the matchday squad against Nottingham Forest on April 1.
