Only a select amount of highly-talented players ever get to witness the inner workings of Liverpool. That would place both Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong in the rare position of having done so, yet have never completed a transfer to the club.
Of course, depending on how the summer months play out that could soon all change. The ECHO understanding that negotiations are underway with the Frimpong's camp to make him the Liverpool's first signing of the summer. The player himself is thought to be keen on a move that requires only the activation of a £30m release clause.
On the other hand, Wirtz is a player of long-standing interest to Anfield chiefs. In his instance, the ECHO understands contact has also been made with the 22-year-old to establish their position as he makes his next career decision, in a battle with Manchester City and Bayern Munich for his signature.

The pair have near 200 appearances in Germany, showing their depth of experience at young ages.
Liverpool's interest in Frimpong and Wirtz comes as no surprise given both players are huge talents in their respective positions. Their experiences have seen them win the biggest honours available - an invincible Bundesliga title and German Cup double is the big highlight - and they have faced challenges head-on against the toughest opposition.
This was the case when Leverkusen came to Anfield on week four of the Champions League's league phase last November.
A bonfire night meeting gave both a taster of the nighttime atmosphere of Liverpool's famous home for the type of occasion relished most by home supporters.
The day after, before flying home the German club accepted the Reds' invitation for Xabi Alonso and his players - including Wirtz and Frimpong - to come and conduct a training session at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby, where Arne Slot and his squad have their day-to-day operations.
Not many outsiders can say they have set foot inside the walls of that state-of-the-art facility, completed only November 2020.
It is not as if Liverpool were trying to sell their project to Wirtz or Frimpong by doing so, it merely comes as fact that both have seen inside the club who are interested in their services this summer.
