‘He’s changed': Seamus Coleman reveals what’s different about David Moyes since returning to…

Everton replaced Sean Dyche with David Moyes at the turn of the year.

Sean Dyche had Everton in a relegation battle when David Moyes joined the club for a second spell at the helm.

The Friedkin Group considered hiring Graham Potter, but decided to bring back the experienced Scotsman.

And, it’s certainly proved to be the correct decision, as the Toffees have avoided the drop with ease, currently sitting 20 points clear of the bottom three.

Speaking in a recent interview, Everton captain Seamus Coleman has revealed the one difference he’s noticed in Moyes since his return.

Seamus Coleman shares the key difference in David Moyes this time around

Moyes left Everton to take the Manchester United job in 2013 and has managed Real Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham United in the years after that.

Asked how much Moyes has changed, Coleman said; “Yeah, he’s changed, or I’ve changed, maybe we both changed.

“Obviously, he was the man, the manager that I respected so much. He was a tough operator, and he’s moved on.

“I’ve stayed and he’s come back and he’s mellowed, but he’s still the boss, believe me, when he needs to show he’s still the boss. But it’s great to have him back.”

Jordan Pickford says Moyes’ man management is so good

Moyes has come in and immediately built up a good rapport with the dressing room, particularly with some of his former players.

Jordan Pickford, who worked with Moyes at Sunderland, recently explained how good the Scotsman’s man management skills are.

“I think his attention to detail is excellent,” Pickford told the Everton website. “He likes to get every detail right, tactically, and get us prepared as best as he can for each game.

“I also think his man management skills are really good. He always has a chat with you and when he speaks before a game, he really gets you fired up for it.”

Pickford has also revealed how ambitious Moyes is, so with all that said, Everton are set up for a bright future under his stewardship.
