Aston Villa have been left furious with the Premier League ahead of their showdown against Tottenham on Friday evening.
Unai Emery and his men welcome Spurs to Villa Park two days earlier than originally scheduled, with the North London club granted a change ahead of the Europa League final.
Given that Villa were denied the same courtesy against Liverpool earlier in the season, there were suggestions that a legal battle could be on the cards.
That appears highly unlikely, now.

Premier League wins as Aston Villa battle mooted
Keith Hackett suggested that the change could cost Villa significantly, but the Premier League appear to have not taken that into account.
Dan Plumley believes it is highly unlikely that it would have turned into a legal battle, despite that becoming more frequent in recent years.
The football finance expert admits that the Premier League will always win on matters such as these, and Villa just have to swallow that, unfortunately.

“I think that’s highly unlikely that it would have got to that stage,” Plumley exclusively told Villa News.
“I know we’ve seen a lot of legal challenges in recent years that we’ve not seen before, particularly around financial regulations and APTs, but it’s highly unlikely to have got to that.
“Ultimately, the Premier League wins on this one, it’s their call, and as much as Aston Villa will not be happy with it, they’re going to have to swallow this one.”

Aston Villa want Champions League again
Given how disastrous Tottenham’s season has been, this fixture change should have no real backlash to Villa, who remain heavy favourites.
Ange Postecoglou and his side know that everything rests on their Europa League final against Manchester United on Wednesday, with a win qualifying them for the Champions League next season.
Villa want the same goal of the Champions League, and three points against Spurs could take them up to fourth in the Premier League ahead of other fixtures.
Position Club Points
1st Liverpool 83
2nd Arsenal 68
3rd Manchester City 66
4th Newcastle United 65
5th Chelsea 63
6th Aston Villa 63
It is a tight race for the Champions League spots
Given the PSR nightmare that may face Villa ahead of its final season in use, they will also likely want to avoid any legal developments, given that the spotlight could shine brighter on them.
