Manchester United face another tricky test on Friday night as they travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea side, in what could be a crucial final dress rehearsal ahead of the Europa League final.
It’s been a Premier League season to forget for the Red Devils, with United stuck in the bottom half of the table alongside Tottenham.
An unfamiliar and uncomfortable position for both sides.

Despite the grim domestic campaign, the focus for most United fans has now firmly shifted to the Europa League final, where they’ll take on Spurs for a shot at silverware and Champions League football.
Ruben Amorim is expected to start several players on Friday who will also feature in Bilbao.
United’s head coach is keen to strike the right balance between sharpness and rest in the final stretch of the season.
And in a welcome development for the squad, one player who has been out of action since March is now back in contention.
Ayden Heaven returns to matchday squad ahead of Chelsea clash
Samuel Luckhurst on X reports that Ayden Heaven has made a surprise return to the Manchester United squad ahead of the clash with Chelsea.
The 18-year-old defender, who joined from Arsenal in January, had impressed with a series of calm, confident displays before suffering a foot injury during his full Premier League debut against Leicester City.

After initially fearing the worst, with Heaven seen in a protective boot over the international break, United’s medical team were encouraged by quicker-than-expected progress in his recovery.
He was named on the bench for United’s 4-1 defeat at Newcastle and has been involved in individual training sessions this week as he builds match fitness.
Now, with just two games left in the campaign, Heaven’s timely return offers Amorim a much-needed boost, especially given his strong early showings and versatility across the backline.
Fans will be eager to see him back in action, either on Friday or in next week’s European final.
