Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton Compares Himself to Jesus

After improbably advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second straight season, two-time All-Star Indiana Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton has gotten pretty confident about his own abilities.

Haliburton reflected on the criticism that has been levied his way over the years. Notably, an anonymous poll of his NBA peers by The Athletic proclaimed the 6-foot-5 Iowa State product to be the league's most overrated player. He appears to have taken umbrage with that designation.

Things took a turn for the extreme when Haliburton appeared on ESPN's "The Pat McAfee Show" to unpack Indiana's surprising five-game semifinal series defeat of the top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers.

During the interview, which is well worth hearing in full, Haliburton made a bonkers proclamation about his own trials and tribulations.

"I have critics in what I do," Haliburton said. "Jesus had critics. We all got critics."
