Draymond Green's Future With Warriors Gets Major Prediction After Playoff Exit

The Golden State Warriors were projected to compete for the championship this year after acquiring Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat in February.

The Dubs beat the Houston Rockets in the first round of the 2025 playoffs in seven games and won Game 1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves on the road in the conference semifinals.

However, Steph Curry suffered a left hamstring injury in Game 1 and missed the rest of the series. The Timberwolves won four games in a row after Curry's injury, sending the Warriors home in five games.

Curry and Draymond Green have won four championships together. Green will make $25.9 million next season. Some believe the Warriors should trade the forward this summer to acquire another star for Curry and Butler.

While that could happen, Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report predicted that Green will be back with Golden State next season.

"Draymond's $25.9 million salary in 2025-26 may be the key to stacking up outgoing money for a big trade. And it might be nice to finally have some distance from his repeated outbursts on the floor," Bailey wrote. "But he and Stephen Curry aren't just in the DNA of this decade-plus run for Golden State. They make up most of the strand.

"Letting Klay Thompson walk last summer was tough enough. Don't expect the Warriors to chip away at that old foundation anymore. Even if Green is 35 and likely to pick up plenty more technical and flagrant fouls next season, he seems destined to finish his career as a lifelong Warrior."

Green appeared in 68 games for the Warriors this season. He averaged 9.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks.

In the 2025 playoffs, Green averaged 9.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.9 blocks in 12 games against the Rockets and Timberwolves.

Green turns 36 next season. It's unknown how much longer he and Curry will play in the NBA.
