Reports: Juventus want to try and bring Antonio Conte back to Turin

Four years ago, [Juventus](https://www.blackwhitereadallover.com) decided to go back to the well and bring back a manager who spent his first tenure on the sidelines becoming one of the most successful coaches the club has ever seen. It didn’t work nearly as well the second time as it did the first, but that apparently hasn’t stopped Juve from thinking that rekindling an old relationship is something they shouldn’t consider when picking their new manager this coming summer.

We’ve had Allegri 2.0, but could there actually be a Conte 2.0, too?

According to reports from Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio and SportItalia’s Alfredo Pedulla, Juventus will try and lure Antonio Conte back to Turin this summer after just a season at Napoli. Conte, who currently has Napoli one point ahead of Inter Milan in the Scudetto race with two games to go, has two years left on a three-year deal that he signed in Naples last summer, but that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from spinning that Juventus will try and bring in a more experienced and accomplished manager than they did last year when they hired Thiago Motta from Bologna.

Di Marzio added that he believes Igor Tudor’s status beyond the Club World Cup is far from certain, even with a fourth-place finish potentially not being enough to see his interim position made permanent over the summer.

If Conte is able to close out the 2024-25 season with Napoli in first, it will be the third different Italian club in which he has won the Scudetto at, with Juventus and Inter being the other two. He would become the only manager to accomplish such a feat considering Serie A doesn’t recognize Fabio Capello and his two titles he won at Juventus in 2005 and 2006.

It would be another feather in Conte’s cap to show what kind of manager he is.

But also one that will always come with risk that it won’t be for very long — which Juventus have already experienced once before when they had a much different kind of front office put together compared to their current iteration of directors.

There is no denying that Conte is able to work short-term wonders and provide instant success domestically. He did it at Juventus to begin the club’s decade of dominance. He did it at Inter. Hell, he did it at Chelsea, too. But it also comes with the general assumption these days that he won’t be at his latest employer for long. That is something that Juventus, if they are truly identifying Conte as their No. 1 managerial target, is banking on and that things at Napoli will go sour even with a potential second Serie A title in three years being secured. It’s possible since Aurelio De Laurentiis is not an easy man to work for and the same can be said about Conte and what he demands from the club that employees him.

Or, [as he was recently dubbed by The Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/may/10/antonio-conte-title-machine-leaves-napoli-fans-cold-serie-a#:~:text=McTominay%20has%20spoken%20of%20Conte's,as%20one%20of%20the%20greats.), Conte is “The Awkward One.” That’s a good one.

Juventus have also been linked to Conte’s former fitness coach, Antonio Pintus, who is currently at Real Madrid but could be available with Carlo Ancelotti leaving the Spanish giants after the completion of the season.
