This summer, Manchester United are looking to strengthen their squad for Ruben Amorim’s first full season at Old Trafford.

It’s widely known that United are looking to recruit to some key positions, namely wanting a striker, a number ten, a holding midfielder and a goalkeeper.

United have already targeted Matheus Cunha for their number 10 role, with The Red Devils closing on the Wolverhampton Wanderers’ star’s signature.

Liam Delap is currently the front runner to become the new first-choice striker at Old Trafford, whilst a midfielder is needed to replace Casemiro and outgoing Christian Eriksen.

Whilst a few options have been considered to replace Andre Onana in goal, no frontrunner has emerged, with Amorim wanting to prioritise other areas first.

However, despite these roles being the main focus of United’s summer recruitment drive, other roles could still be strengthen as well, with the Red Devils now considering a highly talented right-wing-back.

Give Me Sport has now reported that United are considering a move for AS Monaco’s Vanderson to strengthen their right flank.

Last summer, United signed right-back Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich under then manager Erik ten Hag, with the Monaco international becoming vital to the club throughout the season.

Under Amorim, Mazraoui has been fitting in as a right-sided centre-back, making up on of the back three, as opposed to replacing Diogo Dalot on the right flank.

However, Mazraoui wasn’t the only right-back considered though, with Erik ten Hag also monitoring Vanderson, with United even meeting his agents last year.

Now, Amorim is renewing United’s interest in the Brazilian, considering a move for Vanderson who has grabbed two goals and five assists in 40 games for the Ligue 1 side.

With a release clause of £30 million, the 23-year-old brings a remarkable pace and technique on the right-flank, also being able to double on the left, adding versatility to his game.

Signing Vanderson would not only allow for Mazraoui to continue in the back three, but would also unlock Amad Diallo to step into a more attacking role, with the youngster grabbing some remarkable goals this season.
