Social media reacts to Johni Broome’s vertical jump at the 2025 NBA Draft Combine

Two-time Auburn All-American Johni Broome has the internet in a frenzy after his vertical jump went viral at the 2025 NBA Draft Combine.

Broome recorded a standing vertical leap of just 24.5 inches. Listed at 6-foot-10, the projected second rounder was blasted for his sub-par numbers.

Language learning app Duolingo joined in on the laughs quote-tweeting Broome’s vertical jump with the caption “Learn Chinese and try Super Duolingo today!”

This poked fun at the idea of Broome going undrafted and possibly having to play basketball overseas.

Despite the jokes, Broome still has high odds to be selected in upcoming NBA Draft.

He averaged 18.6 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game, leading Auburn to a 32–6 record and a Final Four appearance last season.

Broome has dealt with a torn ACL in his career and played on an injured ankle to close out the Tigers season. He elected not to participate in the scrimmages during the combine.

Here’s how other social media platforms reacted to Broome’s vertical jump:
