Kostas Tsimikas has already made Liverpool feelings clear as Leeds United ‘consider’ transfer

Liverpool full-back Kostas Tsimikas is one of the latest names to be linked with a move to Leeds United in the summer transfer window as the club prepares for life back in the Premier League.

The Championship champions will look to break a two-year pattern next season and establish themselves back in the top division. Over the last two seasons, all six newly promoted teams have been relegated straight back to the Championship after just one season in the top flight.

It’s reported that Daniel Farke will be given a transfer budget of at least £100 million over the summer window to build a squad capable of competing in the Premier League. The Whites have already been linked with several players ahead of the window opening.

It’s been reported this week that the club are considering making a move for Liverpool full-back Kostas Tsimikas. Current left-back Junior Firpo has been linked with a move to join Real Betis in the summer, meaning that Leeds are on the lookout for a replacement.

Tsimikas has been with Liverpool since joining from Olympiacos in 2020. He has, however, failed to nail down a regular starting spot during his time at Anfield so far.

This season he has made 17 appearances in the Premier League under Arne Slot with quite a few of those coming from the bench. Speaking earlier this year, the Greece international praised the new Liverpool boss and outlined his feelings, despite a lack of regular starts.

“I just feel confident. I feel like the manager believes in me,” he told the club website in February. “When I play, he is always there for me and always shows me that he wants the best for me.

“I really, really enjoy to be here with the manager, with the boys. You can always see the smile on my face when I play and when we score a goal.

“It's a big thing for me to say good things but, as I always say, the mirror is the pitch – you have to show there exactly what you can do. Nothing is easy, as we know. I'm really, really happy and I will continue to do this for as many years as I can.”

The 29-year-old will have two years remaining on his contract at Anfield at the end of the current season. The Reds are said to be open to letting him leave in the summer window, with the club looking to bring a new left-back in.
