Two Everton players told they're free to leave as David Moyes offers £16m workhorse new deal -…

Everton are leaving it late to make their decisions on their out-of-contract stars.

David Moyes will be keen to keep some of the players around at Finch Farm as there will be an acceptance of not doing too much this summer in the window.

The Friedkins are backing Moyes in the market, but the Toffees will not want to change too much as it could cause more issues.

However, Everton will be bringing in a number of new faces to freshen up their squad ahead of the new season.

Contracts have been the talk of the town for a number of months now on Merseyside with decisions needing to be made soon.

Moyes is holding contract talks at Everton and it seems three decisions have now been made.

Ashley Young to be offered new Everton contract

Everton are in the market to sign a new full-back this summer, but they are now looking set to keep Ashley Young for another season.

The 39-year-old has seen his minutes reduced considerably since Moyes returned to the club.

According to one club insider, the former England international is set to be offered a new contract ahead of the summer.

Talks are already being held as the experienced defender is being offered the opportunity to play at Bramley-Moore Dock.

Everton could lose one right-back with Seamus Coleman’s future hanging in the balance.

But Young has played some minutes off the bench for Moyes who has viewed him as an option despite his age.

And it looks like he could be the first to ink a new deal securing him his spot in the squad for next season.

Asmir Begovic Everton contract decision made

One player who will not be offered a new deal is backup goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

The Bosnian has not played a single minute of football this season and is now set to be released from the club at the end of the season.

According to the same club insider, the Blues are yet to make him a new contract offer and there is no change planned from the club to open talks.

Begovic has been a real servant to the club over the years, but the Toffees are looking to head in a different direction now.

A number of Everton players have praised Begovic as a real leader, which may surprise some to see him not carried over into Bramley-Moore Dock.

Joao Virginia also set to leave Everton

A new goalkeeper is going to be needed in the summer as Everton are set to lose both of their backup goalkeepers.

Joao Virginia is also set to depart at the end of his contract, according to the club insider.

It is claimed Virginia is already in talks with other clubs as to where he could potentially end up next.

Virginia says Sporting CP and Benfica are interested in his services already as he looks to play more regular football.

There probably won’t be too many Everton fans who would begrudge his decision to leave following a lack of opportunities because of Jordan Pickford.
