In-demand Davide Ancelotti further strengthened his own reputation as the Rangers manager target watched one of his prized pupils at Real Madrid spectacularly prove him right.

The 35-year-old is on the Ibrox radar and he continues to show his worth at the Bernabeu after Jacobo Ramon netted in the dying seconds to down Mallorca.

And Ancelotti Jr was as happy as anyone inside the Bernabeu following his side's dramatic 2-1 win over the islanders as one of the club's rising stars underlined the faith shown him by the club's assistant boss.

Leading Spanish outlets have revealed Ancelotti is one of three men inside Real Madrid who have thrown their weight behind the 20-year-old Spain youth international – further underlining Ancelotti Jr's sway.

They state David Alaba has worked closely with him during the duo's shared spell on the side and Toni Rudiger has acted as a mentor.

But it's been Ancelotti who has made his intentions clear as he labelled Ramon as a player with all the hallmarks to become a world class player and he was in from the off midweek.

Ancelotti's role within the Bernabeu is coming to an end with takeover Kings in the 49ers Enterprises and Andrew Cavenagh having the coach high on their wishlist for the next boss at Rangers.

Meanwhile, ambitious Strasbourg have targeted Rangers breakout star Hamza Igamane.

The Ligue 1 side are in the mix for Champions League football but European football in some form is all-but guaranteed.

Liam Rosenior's side – part of Chelsea's Blue Co club network – are eyeing an active summer and leading French journalist Mohammed Toubache Ter claims they are "hot" on the 22-year-old.

Igamane has been a highlight during a down season with 16 goals across all competitions.

The Morocco international has four years remaining on his deal at Ibrox.
