Manchester United will be going in search of a first Premier League win since mid-March when they travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on Friday evening.

United were sentenced to their 17th league defeat of the season last time out, losing 2-0 to West Ham United at Old Trafford last Sunday afternoon, leaving them 16th in the table with just two games left to play.

The defeat to the Hammers extended United's winless run in the league to seven matches, which equalled their longest run without a victory in the Premier League era. Their last victory was against Leicester City on March 16.

Of course, almost all of the focus for United is on next Wednesday night's Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur at the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao, meaning head coach Ruben Amorim could be forgiven for shuffling his pack at Stamford Bridge. However, he has hinted that he will be naming a strong XI.

After being rested against West Ham last weekend, Andre Onana is primed to return in goal. He was replaced in goal by Altay Bayindir, who has started the last two league games, but the Cameroonian is expected to be recalled and feature in the league for the first time since the end of April.

United will be without both Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt for the clash in the capital, with the duo facing a race against time to be fit for next week's clash with Spurs.

With the pair absent for this one, Amorim could showcase his blueprint for the Europa League final and name a back-three of Noussair Mazraoui, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw. Maguire started the defeat to West Ham on the bench and could be recalled to the starting XI to ensure he maintains his match sharpness ahead of the clash with Spurs.

If Mazraoui starts as the right-sided centre-back, Amad is the leading contender to start at right wing-back. He started for the first time since returning from injury against West Ham and was the only bright spark.

He is likely to be a shoo-in to start against Spurs, meaning he could start against Chelsea to increase his match sharpness. Patrick Dorgu is a likely starter at left wing-back after starting on the bench last weekend.

Manuel Ugarte, who had a testing afternoon against West Ham, is likely to start alongside Casemiro against Spurs, meaning all eyes will be on what midfield partnership Amorim deploys on Friday night. Casemiro is likely to start given he didn't feature against West Ham and he could join forces with Kobbie Mainoo in the engine room.

In attack, Alejandro Garnacho will be eyeing a recall after being left out of the starting line-up last time out. Bruno Fernandes is likely to retain his place in the other No.10 berth, despite some calls for him to be wrapped in cotton wool ahead of the clash with Spurs.

Rasmus Hojlund is a guaranteed starter against Spurs amid a lack of alternative options up front, meaning Chido Obi may get the nod to start for the second away league game running.

United predicted XI vs Chelsea: Onana; Mazraoui, Maguire, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Mainoo, Dorgu; Garnacho, Fernandes; Obi.
