Patrice Evra Says“It Will Be A Mistake”If Man United Sanction Transfer Of£300K p/w Midfielder

**Ex-Manchester United defender Patrice Evra believes his former club should keep hold of Bruno Fernandes at all costs.**

The midfielder has been [**linked**](https://manunews.com/blog/man-united-transfer-news-bruno-fernandes-fans/) with a switch to Saudi Arabia, with Al-Hilal said to have held talks with his agent. However, Evra says that the Red Devils would be unwise to consider proposals for their captain:

“I heard that in Saudi they could offer a lot of money to get Bruno, but I think it will be a mistake to let him go.”

“People talk about his age… 30, no. He is the most important player in the team.”

Fernandes only signed a new contract last year

----------------------------------------------

There was some speculation at the end of last season that the Portuguese international was contemplating a departure from Old Trafford.

However, Fernandes subsequently put pen to paper on a new £300,000 a week three-year deal, keeping him with United until the summer of 2027, with an option for another twelve months.

The size of the salary that the player could receive in the Middle East could still dwarf what he is already earning but there are no indications so far that he will be tempted by the move.

Man United will have to make some tough decisions

-------------------------------------------------

While Fernandes is unlikely to leave, many other high-profile players could well be on the market this summer. In addition to the likes of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony being available, the club may sanction the departures of other players, such as Alejandro Garnacho and even Kobbie Mainoo.

Qualifying for the Champions League via the Europa League would ease the pressure to sell but head coach Ruben Amorim needs funds to reshape the squad. The next few months could see an unprecedented number of arrivals and departures.
