Omar Marmoush has made a very fast start to life at Manchester City.
The 2024/25 campaign has been a struggle for Pep Guardiola’s men as they went from winning four Premier League titles in a row to fighting for a place in next season’s Champions League, which they still need to get over the line with two games remaining.
That may not have even been a possibility had City not brought in new faces during the January transfer window, with Marmoush arriving alongside Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov, and Vitor Reis.
All have played their part at some stage during the second half of the season, but none have made the impact the Egyptian has, who has credited two Man City stars for helping him to settle into life in Manchester.

The Egyptian spent many years in Germany with Frankfurt and Wolfsburg before moving to Manchester this year, and for anyone, help is always needed to adapt.
Speaking ahead of the FA Cup final on Saturday, the forward has stated that both £30m star Mateo Kovacic and Ilkay Gundogan have helped him settle in Manchester, which in turn, has helped him produce on the pitch.
“I say Gundo, Kova, but a lot, a lot of players helped me settle in,” Marmoush told the Emirates FA Cup’s YouTube channel. “I mean, the whole team since I was here after like a month, the feeling I had was like, I’ve been here for a very, very long time.
“And the way they were speaking to me and explaining everything and just trying to help me, because when you come into a new team, you first have to get to know the team on the pitch and the tactics and how the coach wants us to play and everything.
“But you also you have to adapt outside and coming into a big club like this, the club is massive, so you have to know your ways to go where if you need something. So they helped me a lot.”
The forward is a lot different to Erling Haaland with Micah Richards believing Marmoush is better than the Norwegian at linking the play up and running in behind, which is a good option for Guardiola to have.
Jan Åge Fjørtoft thinks Marmoush will help Haaland next season, and if the duo continue to click, that could bring incredible results for the 2025/26 campaign.
Omar Marmoush’s impact has impressed Pep Guardiola
Following Man City’s thrilling 5-2 win over Crystal Palace last month, Guardiola was full of praise for Marmoush, stating that he was impressed with how the 26-year-old has adapted to life at City, having joined a team that was struggling at the time.
The Manchester club are currently on a run of 10 games unbeaten, and Marmoush has certainly played his part in that.
The forward has produced seven goals and three assists across 19 games since moving to Manchester, which adds to his incredible season overall, where the Egyptian has scored 27 goals and assisted a further 17.
It will be interesting to see what Marmoush can do at Man City with a full pre-season under his belt, as the signs so far look very promising.
