Bajcetic: “It Pains Me Deeply to Have Let You Down”

[Liverpool FC](https://liverpooloffside.sbnation.com) midfielder Stefan Bajcetic, on loan at UD Las Palmas, penned an emotional Instagram post after Las Palmas were officially relegated. A 1-0 defeat to Sevilla on Wednesday doomed them to their fate.

> “These are tough days for everyone, but especially for you, the fans.”

>

> “We haven’t been able to achieve our goal of staying in the league you deserve. In four months, I’ve realised how much this club’s fans love, and it pains me deeply to have let you down.”

>

> “I’m sure you’ll return to where this club belongs, and I’ll always be cheering you on as one of your own.

>

> “Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for all the support and for always being there.”

Stefan has had an... interesting season. He started off the 2024/25 season at RB Salzburg, following former Reds assistant manager Pep Lijnders to Austria. However, Pep got fired and Bajcetic’s playing time was limited to 895 minutes in 19 appearances. He joined Las Palmas in the January window and thrown into the fire of a relegation battle as they looked to avoid relegation from the Spanish top-flight. He managed to score a goal in 14 appearances for Las Palmas as they failed to avoid the drop.

Baj will be looking to kick on next season. There were rumours of another loan move to Villareal in the past few weeks, but it seems like he’ll at least have the chance to compete for a place at [Liverpool](https://liverpooloffside.sbnation.com/) when training camp starts.
