The future of Marcus Rashford is seemingly uncertain as a new detail in his loan deal with Aston Villa has emerged.

Rashford has enjoyed a fantastic run of form with Villa, thriving under Unai Emery since his move to Villa Park in January.

The Manchester United attacker had been dropped from Ruben Amorim’s squad prior to his move, with Rashford feeling Emery was the right manager to get his career back on track.

Since then he’s grabbed four goals and six assists in 17 games before being ruled out for the final few games of the season with a hamstring injury.

However, whilst able to play, Rashford had got enough of his former magic back to reclaim his spot on the England national side under Thomas Tuchel.

With only two games left in the season, Aston Villa will need to decided soon if they’re going to exercise their right to buy Rashford at the end of his loan for £40 million.

It’s understood that The Villains are waiting until the end of the season to see if they qualify for the Champions League, currently sitting in sixth place.

A top-five finish is still in reach for Emery’s men, with six points up for grabs if they manage to beat Tottenham and Manchester United.

As Villa are currently tied with fifth-place Chelsea on 63 points, Champions League football is still entirely possible for the Midlands team.

However, even with Champions League football, Villa could still miss out on signing Rashford.

Sky Sports has revealed that whilst Villa hold an option to buy for £40 million, they don’t hold a priority buy position, meaning that any other side could swoop in and beat them to the £40 million purchase.

With teams like Barcelona looking to the striker in what would be Rashford’s dream move, Villa will need to act on the opportunity soon to seal the deal.

It’s been recently reported that despite referring to Barcelona as his ideal summer transfer, Rashford is now in favour of remaining at Villa Park.

Unfortunately for Rashford though, his extortionate wage demands are putting most teams off of a permanent move even with the talent he possesses.

A weekly salary of £325,000 is proving too much for even Europe’s elite, leaving the door wide open this summer.
